GANG RISK INTERVENTION
Project YES is a collaboration between CRP and the Sonoma County Juvenile Probation. This
program is designed to educate youth about gang culture and risks,
alternative choices and behaviors, resources to support healthier
choices, tools to develop a positive meaningful life and an overall
increased awareness of the community. Youth are court ordered to participate in a weekly two-hour group session. Each referred youth participates through attendance for approximately 16-24 weeks, as recommended by juvenile court. During
the program, youth are exposed to violence prevention, job training,
college awareness, community awareness, counseling, drug/alcohol use
and abuse prevention, as well as four weeks of intensive anger
management skill training. When youth complete the 16-24 weeks, they are transferred to a three-month period of After Care. During these three months, youth and their families continue to receive support and guidance through regular contact with County Probation and CRP program leaders. This
program is offered to court-ordered youth and their families.
